A pensioner found dead after fire crews were called to her house is believed to have died before the blaze broke out.

Police and firefighters were called to St Edmunds Road, in Temple Hill, Dartford, last night after a small kitchen fire broke out.

Crews said the fire was already out and no action needed to be taken.

Kent Police confirmed an elderly woman, believed to be in her 80s, was found dead at the house.

But initial details suggest the woman's death was not caused by the fire and it is not being treated as suspicious.
