Five guilty after nightclub attack

Five thugs have admitted being part of a fight that left two people injured outside a popular nightclub.

The two victims, aged 19 and 20 and both from Gillingham, suffered head injuries in an attack in Blue Boar Lane near the Casino Rooms.

Francesca Hammell, 19, of Darland Avenue, Gillingham, and Jamie Edwards, 20, of Maidstone Road, Gillingham, both pleaded guilty to common assault at Medway Magistrates' Court on June 1.

Bradley Major, 20, of Cornwallis Avenue, Gillingham; Anthony Mills, 19, of Jefferson Drive, Gillingham; and Daniel Waple, 19, of Bredhurst Road Gillingham, all pleaded guilty to violent disorder prior to appearing in court.

All five have been released on bail and are due to be sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court on July 2.

The incident took place just after 2.30am on Friday, April 24 last year.
