A car overturned on the A2 causing long tailbacks.

Firefighters had to clear up fuel from the carriageway after the accident outside the Esso garage near Cobham at around 12.30pm Monday.

The car was on its roof and missing one wheel.

All but one London-bound lane were closed leaving traffic queueing for two miles.

By 1.25pm the emergency services had left the scene - but it is not known how many people were inside the vehicle.

The road fully reopened at around 2pm.
