Gillingham clinched the KRBS Cup on Tuesday night with a penalty shoot-out victory over Whitstable.

Charlie Stimson (pictured below), son of manager Mark, was the player-of-the-match after scoring two goals and then converting the winning spot-kick.

The game ended 3-3 after 90 minutes as Whitstable gave Gillingham’s youth team a stern test at the Belmont Ground.

Mark Munday’s Whitstable side went ahead on 18 minutes, when Stuart Vahind headed home, but Stimson levelled with a penalty early in the second half.

Vahid struck again on 55 minutes with a close range header but Stimson’s second of the night and a goal for Sam Fisher put the Gills 3-2 ahead.

Clint Gooding’s effort levelled the game but Gills took the honours with a 5-3 shoot-out win in front of a sizeable crowd of 685.
