Striker Andy Pugh has joined Blue Square Premier side Histon on loan for a month.

The 21-year-old recently returned from a successful spell on loan with Welling where he hit eight goals in 15 games for the Blue Square South side.

His performances at Park View Road alerted several managers and Dover were understood to be keen to take Pugh to Crabble while Welling manager Jamie Day was also understood to want him to re-join permanently.

Pugh (pictured) signed a new one year deal with the Gills at the start of this season, but he has been well down manager Mark Stimson’s pecking order, and hasn’t appeared once for the League 1 side.

He has made nine apperances for the Gills in total since progressing from the club’s youth programme.

Histon currently sit 15th in the Premier table and Pugh is in line to make his debut for the Stutes on Wednesday night against Rushden & Diamonds.
