Bradley Dack was thrilled to be doing what he loves best on Saturday.

The teenager netted his first Football League goal for the Gills as he helped them to a point at Morecambe.

He said: “It was good to get the goal and it had been coming. Scoring is the best feeling, along with the team winning.”

Dack is benefiting from an extended run in the side as he has now started the last three matches. He has not previously enjoyed that kind of consistency and earlier this year went out on loan to Braintree.

He said: “It feels good to be playing and they were three good team performances. Hopefully, we can go to Rochdale and get a win. I will recover for Tuesday and go again. It was tough out there in the second half but it was good.”

Last season, as youth skipper, he netted close to 30 goals and boss Martin Allen was quick to promote him into the senior set-up. Allen was constantly relaying instructions to Dack on Saturday but he is glad of the support.

He said: “That’s the way he is and that’s his management style, he has been good. You know when he is shouting at you he is just trying to help.”
