Good Samaritan may hold clues to robbery

A Good Samaritan who came to the rescue of a man who had been robbed is being sought by police.

The victim, a 29-year-old lorry driver from Northfleet, was attacked and robbed of his mobile phone as he walked home from a Gravesend town centre nightclub in the early hours of the morning.

He believes the incident happened between the Chiltern Garage and Leather Bottle pub on London Road in Northfleet.

Det Con Hayley Hudson-Gool, who is investigating the robbery, said: “It would seem that someone stopped to help the victim, put him into their car and took him home.

We would very much like to speak to that person who may have vital information which will help us trace the person or people responsible for this robbery.”

The incident happened between 4am and 4.50am on Saturday July 7. The victim suffered some bruising and swelling to his face.

If you have information or can help police with their inquiries, call Det Con Hudson-Gool on 01474 565075 or Kent Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
