THE Prince of Wales is due to visit the home of Victorian Gothic architect Augustus Pugin at Ramsgate on Wednesday.

The Grange is a rare and largely unaltered example of Pugin’s work and was completed in 1844. It was here that he designed the interiors for the Palace of Westminster.

The grade I listed building is currently being restored by the Landmark Trust, a building preservation charity.

During his visit Prince Charles, who has been patron of the Landmark Trust since 1993, will meet Trust staff involved in the restoration of this nationally important building and the specialist building contractors, craftspeople, architects and donors.
