A TAXI driver was brought back from the dead when a have-a-go hero gave him life-saving resuscitation.

Stephen Edmed, 61, of Fens Way, Hextable, was found slumped over the wheel of his taxi after suffering a heart attack.

The grandfather-of-two was spotted by off-duty police sergeant Dale Openshaw, who was cycling to his home in Dartford.

Sgt Openshaw, 33, carried out mouth-to-mouth and cardiac resuscitation known as CPR.

Rob Morrison, the senior resuscitation officer at Darent Valley Hospital, who treated Mr Edmed, said Mr Openshaw saved the life of the clinically dead taxi driver.
