COUNCILLORS are set to decide on whether two large housing developments can be built as well as the future of a children’s nursery at a Planning Control Committee meeting tonight.

Recommended for permission is the building of six four-bedroom houses and six two-bedroom flats on the Riverside Works, Bourne Road, Bexley.

Recommended for refusal is a proposal to build three blocks of flats containing 60 homes on the site of Hatherley House and St Lawrences Hall in Sidcup.

The committee will also be asked to consider whether Chatterbox Day Nursery is able to stay on its site in Crofton Avenue, having previously been given only temporary permission.

The nursery previously moved from Blackfen Girls’ School and looks after 43 children aged under five.

Other decisions also to be made at the meeting include VCD Athletic club’s extended use of its flood lights and the erection of two mobile phone masts, one in Bexleyheath at the junction of Francis Avenue and Long Lane and the other in Crayford at the junction of Old Road and London Road.

The meeting will be held at 7.30pm in the Civic Offices, Broadway, Bexleyheath.
