Investigation launched after woman's body found

POLICE have launched an investigation following the death of a 34-year-old woman. Officers were called to a property in Russell Road, Gravesend at around 2.15am on Tuesday following a report that the body of a woman , who is believed to have been pregnant, had been found.The terraced house remained cordoned off on Wednesday morning with a single police vehicle outside.

Police tape had been placed from one side of the fence to the wall sealing off the entrance.

Detective Inspector Ian Dampier said: “Until we investigate further we can not clarify if this incident is suspicious. At present we are treating the death as unexplained.”A post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place later today.
