Jamie Clifford has been named as Kent County Cricket Club's new chief executive

Kent County Cricket Club have named Jamie Clifford as their new chief executive.

The 34-year-old, who lives at Wye, has been the club's acting chief exceutive since the retirement of Paul Millman last year.

Clifford (pictured) became the Kent Cricket Board’s director of cricket development in 2002 and latterly combined the role with that of director of business development with Kent County Cricket Club.

He has been integral in the club’s ground redevelopment project, having been involved from the outset.

Kent chairman George Kennedy said: "Jamie has been a tremendous asset to the club over the last few years and his wealth of knowledge and experience will prove crucial as the redevelopment project starts to take shape.

"Not only does he have a detailed understanding of our business but he possesses the necessary drive and determination to bring about further growth."
