Men would most like to be stuck in a traffic jam with Rochester pin-up Kelly Brook this Bank Holiday, a survey has revealed.

In a poll of 2,000 motorists, Kelly Brook beat Dancing on Ice presenter Holly Willoughby as the person men would most like to have as their passenger.

Phoenix Nights comedian Peter Kay came third and Virgin tycoon Richard Branson was the fourth most popular celebrity in the survey, undertaken by Swinton car insurance.

Peter Kay was women drivers’ favourite passenger followed by This Morning host Fern Britton and comic Jonathan Ross.

A Swinton spokesman said: “Being stuck in traffic is incredibly boring and with 18 million drivers taking to the road this Bank Holiday, many motorists are facing long journeys.

“It’s funny to see that women seem to think that personality is the key to a good driving companion, whereas men are choosing looks.”

Also named in the list of men’s favourites was Strictly Come Dancing presenter Bruce Forsyth, singer Lily Allen and supermodel Elle Macpherson.

Women also picked out princes Harry and William, The Office star Ricky Gervais and Radio One DJ Chris Moyles.
