The body of a Kent-based soldier killed in Afghanistan earlier this week was brought home today.

Sapper Guy Mellors from the 36 Engineers Regiment was based at Invicta Barracks in Maidstone.

The 20-year-old was from Coventry.

He was repatriated to RAF Lyneham in Wiltshire along with four other soldiers who lost their lives in the war torn country.

Residents in the nearby town of Wootten Bassett were expected to once again line the streets to pay their respects as the soldiers' cortege passes through.
