Arctic chill, snow and wintry showers to hit Kent later this week

Kent could be struck by wintry showers and even snow by the end of the week - as the whole of the UK is set to be hit by icy blasts.

Arctic air is set to move south by Friday, with the weather system becoming increasingly wintry, according to weather pundits.

It's claimed part of the South East will start to see wintry showers as the week progresses.

A Met Office spokesman said showers will spread south and east on Thursday, putting most places at risk of the cold snap.

By Thursday or Friday most places are likely to stand a risk of sleet or snow.

Be warned to grab for the coat and scarf as next weekend approaches, with temperatures plummeting to the minus double figures overnight.
