The Kent derby between Maidstone United and landlords Sittingbourne on Tuesday night was abandoned due to floodlight failure at Bourne Park.

The Ryman League, Division 1 South clash - which was officially a Stones home game on the fixture calendar - was just two minutes old when the lights opposite the main stand failed.

Following a 12 minute delay, the lights came back on but after another two and a half minutes went off again.

A large crowd believed to be around 500 were left disappointed as the game was abandoned with the score at 0-0.

The game will be rearranged but as yet no date has been set.
