A DISABLED pensioner is to stand trial on charges alleging that he breached a sex offender order made by Medway magistrates in October, 1999.

Reginald Jarrett denied two charges of committing an act prevented by a sex offender order between May 8 and June 28 by permitting or encouraging a child to enter his home.

The wheelchair-bound 77-year-old, of Epps Court, Goddington Road, Strood, entered the pleas via a TV link between Elmley Prison, Sheppey, and Maidstone Crown Court.

Jarrett, previously from The Mailyns, Rainham, will go on trial on January 16 next year. He was remanded in custody.
