A 29-year-old motorist has admitted causing the death of a young man following a fatal collision.

Neil Mayhead, of Mossy Glade, Gillingham, pleaded guilty to causing the death of 20-year-old Dominic Neff by dangerous driving when he appeared before a judge at Maidstone Crown Court.

Mayhead was at the wheel of an MG Rover at the time of the collision in Maidstone Road, Rainham, on November 3 last year.

Mr Neff, of Edwin Road, Rainham, died after the car he was travelling in crashed through three gardens before hitting a parked car.

Another motorist, Samuel Bray, 20, appeared in the dock with Mayhead. Bray, of Marshall Road, Gillingham, denies causing the death of Mr Neff by dangerous driving and will stand trial on November 20. Bray was said to have been driving a Lexus at the time.

Sentencing of Mayhead was adjourned until the end of Bray’s trial which is expected to last up to two weeks.
