Man dies in people carrier crash

A MAN was killed when a people carrier collided with a lorry on a country road.

Fire crews from Ashford and Canterbury raced to the scene, on the A252 Canterbury Road between Challock and Molash, just after 11am yesterday following reports of a man trapped in the wreckage of the people carrier.

Police patrols, which closed the main road and diverted traffic, and ambulance crews were in attendance.

The man, whose identity has not yet been released, died at the scene as firefighters battled to cut him free.

Two people from the HGV were taken to the Kent and Canterbury Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
