A MAN has been arrested in connection with a serious sexual assault in a Kent town.

A 29-year-old woman was attacked on a grass area next to Fort Pitt Hill, off New Road, Chatham, between 3.30am and 4am on Sunday morning.

Police arrested a 25-year-old Gillingham man at a house in Grosvenor Road, Chatham, last night.

He is currently being questioned at Medway police station.
