Man in hospital after being stabbed with bottle

A man is recovering in hospital after being stabbed in the neck with a bottle.

The man, who has not been named, was seriously hurt when he was attacked by another man in Glencoe Road, Chatham.

It is believed an argument broke out between the two men and a woman shortly after 7pm Wednesday.

Concerned residents dialled 999 after the attack, and police immediately cordoned off of the road and arrested a 32-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman.

Paramedics took the injured man to Medway hospital where he had emergency treatment to his wounds, but police say his injuries are no longer life-threatening.

A police spokesman said the 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault, and the 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of affray.

Both have now been bailed until Friday, July 25 while investigations continue.
