Man killed as car overturns

KENT Police have appealed for information after a man died when his car crashed and overturned on a country road.

The tragedy happened in Seven Mile Lane, East Peckham, near Maidstone, at the junction of Martins Lane.

The victim was driving a red Rover 416. He is believed to have been in his 50s and from the Maidstone area.

Firefighters from Tonbridge used hydraulic equipment to remove the body from the vehicle. Police said that no one else was in the vehicle and no other car was involved.

The emergency services were called to the scene at about 11.20pm on Friday. The coroner has been informed and an inquest will be held.
