Man knocked out in Post Office raid

A MALE customer was knocked out and a woman slightly injured during a bungled raid on a Kent Post Office.

A man, armed with a knife, burst into the Post Office in High Street, Yalding, near Maidstone. There was a scuffle during which the male customer fell and was knocked unconscious and the woman was pushed around.

The raider, who was in his late teens or early 20s blond, fled empty-handed towards Laddingford where he was seen getting into a dark blue estate car.

The incident happened at about 12.45pm last Thursday. Today police were still hunting the man. Anyone with information is asked to call Maidstone and Malling Police on 01622 690690 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
