Man pulled from house blaze

A MAN was pulled unconscious from a smoke-filled attic bedroom at Fitzroy Avenue, Margate.

Firefighters wearing breathing sets carried the man, thought to be in his forties, from the third floor of the house.

He was revived at the scene and then treated at the Queen Mother Hospital, Margate, for smoke inhalation and minor burns.

Fire crews from Margate and the Thanet station at Broadstairs were alerted after smoke was smelt in a neighbouring property.

The main damage to the attic was from heat and smoke.
