Mark McCammon will step up his rehabilitation from a hamstring injury with a run out in the reserves tonight.

McCammon (pictured) has been sidelined for a month with a strain which he picked up in the Johnstone’s Paint defeat to Norwich.

The Gills’ Combination League fixture against Crystal Palace takes place at Croydon Athletic’s KT Stadium at 7pm.

It will be the second meeting in a week for the reserve sides, after Ronnie Jepson’s Crystal Palace side won the game at Priestfield 1-0 on Wednesday afternoon.

Gillingham will also give a trial to strikers Amoudou Abdullei and Bradley Hudson-Odoi.

A number of scouts are expected to be in attendance as boss Mark Stimson looks to send some of his fringe players out on loan.

They are thought to include Adam Miller, Andy Pugh and Garry Richards.

All three failed to impress in the last reserve outing and Stimson is looking for a much improved showing tonight.

"First and foremost you do it for yourself," said Stimson. "You play for your own pride. You want to perform every week and try and be man-of-the-match every week.

"From a manager’s point of view you want to win every week but players should want to be at their best. That means you have to run around and put that effort in. I hope that I see a bit more than I did in the last game.

"Hopefully they go out and put a performance on that can get them back in our squad. If not then someone else takes them and they get a month’s football."
