A NEW bypass in the village of Lamberhurst, near Tunbridge Wells, was being officially opened today by Transport Minister David Jamieson.

Villagers have been battling for a bypass for the last two decades. Work on the 3km stretch of road began two years ago.

It had been due to open some months ago but bad weather and other issues caused delays.
