Minor accident sparks major delays

A MINOR collision on a major commuter route caused rush-hour misery for hundreds of motorists this morning.

Commuters travelling Maidstone-bound on the A249 Detling Hill were brought to a standstill at around 8am.

Although very minor with no injuries caused the collision, described by police as a ‘shunt’, took place in the path of oncoming vehicles.

The flow of traffic was slowed dramatically until the lane was cleared at around 9am.
