Hundreds of suspects have been arrested in a countywide police operation to smash burglaries.

In total, 222 people have been detained during the first three weeks of Operation Enforce 2.

Of those, 126 have been charged - with 71 warrants executed and more than 500 crimes detected as a result of the arrests, according to police.

This week, police in Mid Kent arrested and charged three people for a burglary following a car chase.

So far, most warrants and arrests have been made in North Kent.

The Medway policing area has made the most number of detections for burglaries during the initiative to date.

East Kent, which has the highest number of burglaries reported in the county, is seeing figures plummet compared to last year.

Operation Enforce 2, which began on July 4, will run for the summer and involves officers targeting offenders to reduce crime, and includes officers patrolling burglary 'hot spot' areas.
