The full line-up for a music festival that is expected to attract thousands of music lovers to Ashford has been unveiled.

Organisers of the Create Music Festival say it promises to be the best ever.

The festival returns to Ashford on Sunday July 26, with upwards of 5,000 music lovers expected to flock to one of the biggest free music events in the South East.

And it's not just music fans eagerly looking forward to the festival - with musicians anticipating their appearance at the major event taking place in Victoria Park.

Lead singer Shaun Michaels of headline act Counterfeit Quo said: "We are all really excited about coming to Create for the first time.

"Playing in front of 5,000 people is going to be amazing, and I'm sure the gig will be fantastic, both for all the fans and for us."

Singer-songwriter Nick Harrison from Folkestone, who recently signed to A&M records, is also looking forward to playing the main stage at Create 09.

"I can't wait to come back down to Ashford for the festival. I hope a lot of people will come down to the set and bring a lot of good vibes with them."

Oliver Perrott-Webb of Modern Beach, added: "We are delighted to be playing at one of Kent's finest gatherings of its best musical talents.

"We hope that many people turn up, and we encourage all to flood to this event of so much importance to local musicians and the local community." The main stage will also see performances alternative rockers Hold Fire, Black Market Karma, Kingskin, Robert Harris, The Flack, Phantom Lacuna, and Stone Thrower.

In addition to the acts appearing on the main stage, the Right Track Music School stage will give up-and-coming Ashford bands the chance to perform.

Headlining is Tenterden based Carnelian, supported by Ashford's indie rock brothers Joel and Jericho Tozer who front the band Flat Lung.

The DJ stage, run by Sideways Recordings, will provide a platform for both developing artists and established producers, including Thom, Episodes and Keydin.

The live bands will be supported by Monty Hammond's Worldwide Funfair, face painting, children's attractions, food stalls, drumming workshops and auditions.
