Needle attack on teenage girl

DETECTIVES are hunting two men and a woman who assaulted a 19-year-old girl as she sat on a bench with some friends.

The victim was approched by the group in Railway Street, Chatham, close to a flyover. They became abusive and it is then alleged she was struck in the stomach.

She was taken to hospital where staff diagnosed her as having two small wounds that were consistent with needle punctures.

The incident occurred between 12.45am and 1.15am on Saturday, September 15.

Det Con Dave Cooper said: "We are keen to hear from anyone who has information that will help us with this investigation. Currently there are a number of lines of enquiry that we are following and we are examining CCTV footage.

"This incident has caused a great deal of distress and anxiety to the woman involved and we are keen to arrest the person responsible for this offence."

The fist suspect is a woman described as white, around 5ft 2in tall with blonde, shoulder length hair and a round face with a pointed jaw. She had dark eyes and wore cream or yellow clothing.

One of the males is described as being white, aged between 16 and 17, with dark hair. He wore trainers, jogging bottoms and a jumper with patches of light blue on it. There is no description available of the third male.
