Overturned caravan leads to M20 closure

DRIVERS on a Kent motorway are facing long delays after an accident involving a caravan.

The coastbound lanes between Junction 12, for Cheriton, and Junction 13, for Folkestone, were closed at 9.45am after a caravan being towed by a Land Rover overturned.

Fire, ambulance and police attended the scene at 9.50am and one lane was opened to ease congestion.

The other lane remained closed as there was crash barrier damage and oil on the road.

However, both lanes are to be shut again while recovery of the vehicles takes place.

Traffic is backed up past Junction 11 and motorists are being diverted through Cheriton, leading to clogged roads in that area.

Nobody was hurt.
