THIS was the sight that greeted motorists as they attempted to get onto a motorway roundabout in the county on Thursday afternoon.

A container full of paper came off the back of a lorry, spilling its contents across the road, closing access to the roundabout at junction 4 of the M20 at Leybourne and causing traffic tailbacks.

A team from Kent Highways Services was called to the scene with a JCB to remove the bulk of the paper.

The rest was swept up by hand and the roundabout reopened at about 3pm.
