Police appeal on two accidents

Police are appealing for witnesses to two accidents in the county which left people badly hurt.

A woman pedestrian is in hospital with serious injuries after an accident involving a DAF yellow single decker bus in Maidstone on Saturday.

The accident happened at 1.50pm in London Road, near Queens Road. The woman, who is local to the area, was taken to a London hospital.

Police say they would like to speak to anyone who was in the area who may have witnessed the collision, or anyone who has any information.

The air ambulance attended and the road was closed whilst officers examined the scene and for recovery of the bus. A contraflow was put into place by officers to keep the traffic moving.

The other incident happened the previous day when a cyclist sustained serious head injuries in a collision with a blue BMW on Chatham Hill, Chatham.

The accident happened at about 3.40pm and the cyclist, who comes from south London, was airlifted to a hospital in the capital.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who was in the area who may have witnessed the collision, or anyone who has any information. They are keen to speak to the occupants of a Seat Leon car, which was parked nearby
