Police are hunting a truck driver believed to have caused a posh Bentley to crash after swerving on the M20.

The accident happened around 100 yards before the junction 10 slip road in Ashford just after 9am on April 9.

Officers said a blue Bentley Continental was in lane two travelling in the same coastbound direction as a white lorry in lane one.

The Bentley driver said the lorry suddenly moved into lane two for no apparent reason, forcing the Bentley to shift into lane three.

The driver of the Bentley - which can cost up to £140,000 - then lost control, hit the central barrier and the car ended up facing the wrong way.

No one was hurt but the incident caused debris to be strewn across both the London and coastbound carriageways.

Kent Police is appealing for any witnesses that might be able to identify the white lorry as the driver failed to stop.

Constable Paul Croucher, from the force's specialist Roads Policing Unit, said: "Whilst it’s unusual to appeal for witnesses unless a collision has actually occurred, the driver of the Bentley has described very dangerous behaviour that could have resulted in someone getting hurt or worse.

"As a result of the report and the amount of debris scattered across the motorway an investigation is underway into possible serious offences.

"We’re very keen for people to come forward with information as part of our investigation into the circumstances around this incident."

Anyone who saw the lorry or has any information about this incident is asked to call police on 01622 690 690.
