Redstone Racing had a weekend to forget after being plagued by problems throughout the British Touring Car Championship outing at Oulton Park.

Their trio of divers claimed three top 10 finishes between them in the three races but were hampered by numerous incidents.

Mat Jackson’s (pictured) fifth in race one and seventh in the third and final race was as good as it got for the Wrotham-based team.

Team manager Oly Collins said: "It’s been a terrible weekend pretty much from the start. It has been unbelievably expensive with very little to show for it due to all of the incidents we’ve had.

"The driving standards in the championship have reached an all-time low in my opinion; we have to keep on fixing damage, time after time. This weekend really pushed the team’s resolve but the guys were, as usual, amazing. It will be a very busy two weeks to prepare the cars for Croft, that’s for sure."

Jackson’s weekend started well enough, with a fifth in race one, but both Aron Smith and Liam Griffin were forced to retire. Griffin had mechanical failure, while Smith was hit from behind and suffered a puncture.

Griffin finished eighth in race two, from 18th on the grid, but Jackson retired with a puncture after a tussle with Rob Collard while Smith this time had a malfunctioning Ford Focus.

In the final race Jackson claimed a good finish, despite several contacts in the race, but Griffin made heavy contact with a barrier and Smith was again shunted from behind, leading to them both retiring.
