A grieving family have put up a £10,000 reward after their home was burgled while they were at a funeral.

Tracy Taylor, from Medway, discovered the property had been broken into when they returned from the service.

A safe containing money and jewellery had been taken from the Frindsbury Road, Strood, property on Monday - between lunchtime and early evening.

Now the family has put forward the reward for the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

Miss Taylor said: "We were attending the funeral of a family friend, a young man taken from his family too young.

"To add to that terrible day, we returned to find our home had been broken into and our personal belongings gone.

"The jewellery has considerable emotional value and we are devastated. We want those responsible to face justice, more importantly we don't want another family to go through this."
