Rochester racer Aaron Steele set to race in F3 Cup at Spa Francorchamps

Aaron Steele is set to make a return to the F3 Cup later this month with a trip to the famous Spa Francorchamps circuit in Belgium.

Rochester’s Steele hasn’t raced competitively this season due in part to a lack of funding despite taking F3 by storm last year.

He won 14 of the 18 races on his way to securing the prize FIA Formula 2 test drive last November. Now he returns to take on the current crop of F3 Cup drivers.

Steele, 23, makes his F3 Cup return with Omicron Motorsport on June 17.

His success in F3 last year brought him not only an F2 test drive but his huge points haul saw him win the Sunoco GRAND-AM 200 Challenge and led to him racing stateside.

He will be making his first outing since competing at the Daytona International Speedway in January.

Steele said: "I’m really excited to be coming back to the F3 Cup and am looking forward to be racing again.

"Driving an F3 car at Spa was too good an opportunity to turn down.

"I’m really hungry to be racing an F3 car again and I’ve got a real burning ambition to do well at Spa."
