Search for missing man with health problems

POLICE in Greater Manchester are appealing for information about a 31-year-old man who has been missing from his home for over one month.

Gary McAndrew was last seen at his house in Didsbury on January 9.

Mr McAndrew is described as white, approximately 6ft tall, of slim build, with blue eyes, shoulder length dark brown dreadlock style hair and an untidy beard. He speaks with a Manchester accent.

When he went missing he was wearing a hooded top, dark blue jeans, a green waterproof jacket and walking boots. He was carrying a grey rucksack containing a blue sleeping bag and was wearing a blue or green ring, possibly on middle finger.

McAndrew requires regular medication for health problems, and has difficulty communicating with others. He is not thought to have taken any money or medication with him.

Mr McAndrew has gone missing on several occasions before and has been found in Scotland, Wales and Yorkshire. In particular, he has been known to visit the Oban, Inverness, Dundee, Anglesey, Chester and York areas.
