Sex assault on teenage girl

POLICE in North Kent are appealing for information following a sex assault on an 18-year-old girl.

The attack happened in Dover Road at Northfleet. The victim had walked to Perry Street to buy cigarettes with a friend.

As they walked back home the girl stopped to talk to another friend and the two became separated.

The victim finished talking and went to catch up with her friend but couldn’t find her. She continued to walk back to her friend’s house and as she walked past the entrance to St Botolophs School a man tried to speak to her.

The girl ignored the man and continued walking. The man then ran in front of her and put his hands up her skirt. The girl pushed him away and ran back to her friend’s house.

The offender is described as white, aged between 20 and 29, 5ft 9in tall, of thin build with shoulder length hair. He was wearing jeans and a denim jacket. He was carrying a blue carrier bag.

The incident occurred on August 5 between 12.45am and 1.10am.
