Six released following fight in Rochester

Six men detained after a Medway man was seriously injured in a mass brawl have been released.

Spencer Dodgson, was left fighting for his life after being beaten up during the brawl outside the Casino Rooms nightclub in Rochester.

Mr Dodgson, 27, from Strood, suffered severe head injuries during the fight in the car park opposite the nightclub the early hours of Sunday.

Mr Dodgson who used to attend the Temple School in Strood and the Hundred of Hoo School, was taken to a specialist hospital in London.

Police were called at 3.10am and found a group of men fighting in the car park, in Blue Boar Lane.

Six men aged between 19 and 28 were arrested on suspicion of affray.

Three of the men, a 19-year-old from Kennington; a 19-year-old from Brixton and a 25-year-old from South Lambeth, have been bailed until April 19 pending further enquiries.

A 28-year-old man from Orpington was cautioned for public order offences.

And two other men were released without charge.

Mr Dodgson remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital.

Detectives investigating the incident are appealing for witnesses and want to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of the fight to contact them.
