Still no clues in hunt for pensioner's killer

Hundreds of witness reports have been checked and hours of CCTV images scrutinised but police are no closer to tracking down the killer of a Harrietsham pensioner.

Shirley Leedham, 70, died when she was hit on a pelican crossing on the A20 at 8.40am on Thursday, October 9.

Police have now confirmed the lights on the crossing were green for pedestrians, giving Mrs Leedham the right of way.

Today, police were back to the scene of the accident.

PC Guy Ditcher, of the Serious Collision and Investigation Unit, said: “We are hoping to get people who were in the area to come forward if they haven’t done so already. It may be they saw something but assumed that everyone else saw the same and so haven’t come forward yet, but we want to hear from everybody.”

PC Ditcher said Mrs Leedham’s family were desperate for “closure”.
