Motorists still have no idea if - or when - they can expect to pay more at the Dartford Crossing tolls.

The Department for Transport had planned for the price to increase for cars from £1.50 to £2 this November and to £2.50 in April next year.

No date for the increase has been set despite November rapidly approaching.

And there is still no date for when feedback will be given after public consultation into the planned price hikes ended on September 23.

The Messenger handed in a petition with more than 2,000 signatures opposing the hikes. It was submitted to the House of Commons speaker John Bercow as well as to the Department for Transport to form part of the consultation.

A Department for Transport spokesman said: "There is no date as yet [for the tolls increase in November].

"There is no date for when the feedback will happen either."
