Thugs attack boy cyclist in park

A SCHOOLBOY was taken to hospital after being assaulted by two thugs during an unprovoked attack in Gillingham Park.

The 10-year-old boy, who has not been named, had been cycling through the park with a friend last Saturday when one of the teenage boys kicked his bike.

The youngster, who was knocked unconscious as he fell from the bike, was taken to Gillingham's Medway Maritime Hospital and treated for grazing to his face around his left eye, nose and right hand.

Medway Police are appealing to anyone with any information to come forward.

The teenagers, believed to be aged between 15 and 18, were 5ft tall and of medium build. They were wearing sports tops with hoods, which were ripped. One of the teenagers had a distinctive white skull on the back of his top.

Anyone who may have seen something or who may have information in connection with the incident is asked to contact Medway Police on 01634 884252 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
