ADRENALINE-PACKED action heads to Kent this weekend when the Quad Racing Association’s Big Sky Beach Cross Festival rides into town.

Following its hugely successful debut in 2007, the event brings the UK’s top quad and motocross racers to Margate’s main sands for high-speed racing and entertainment.

Spectators can experience the excitement of the competition from the seaside prom and meet the competitors and examine their machines in the paddock area, next to the clock tower.

Racing begins at 10.30am daily, with winners battling for a place in the grand finale on Sunday when the QRA Margate Big Sky Beach Cross champions will be crowned.

Race organiser Tony Nash said:“The warm welcome we received in 2007 was fantastic. Now word has spread and this year we are bringing an even bigger event to Margate.

“Some of the best quad and motocross riders in the UK and Europe will be riding and many of the sport’s top names are launching their 2008 teams at the festival.”

The event has been organised by Margate Town Partnership, with support from Thanet District Council and also features funfair rides and food stalls.
