Do you ever get the impression that music artists are rubbing it in at the start of every year? We have been at home stuffing our faces with turkey, a tin of Mingles and half a crate of Ferrero Rocher, yet they are now in Barbados showing off their bikini bodies and toned physics. Us? We’re holding our bellies in and putting off going to the gym for another month.

Popular kmfm artist Pixie Lott has been frolicking in the sea with her boyfriend, while real life Barbie and Ken, Michelle Keegan from Coronation Street and Max from The Wanted, have been showing off their perfection in the Caribbean.

The Wanted guys prove to be popular on the kmfm playlist, producing hit after hit. If you missed them when they came in to have a chat with me on Drivetime last year, hear the interview again by visiting www.soundcloud.com and search for kmfm Drivetime. The boys made some interesting comments on the wig which Tom wore and Cheryl Cole’s fingers. Random I know – have a listen for more.

While there you can also catch up on former X Factor winner Matt Cardle and Olly Murs, who I hear is about to release his own underwear line. If his designs are anything like the jeans he wears, they will be tight. They may need air vents.

Music wise, 2012 is moulding into an exciting year. More new music from hit maker Bruno Mars. The song It Will Rain, is featured in the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1. Also, listen out for two new unheard Michael Jackson songs with Queen. Michael had duetted with Freddie Mercury on two tracks and Queen’s Roger Taylor and Brian May are currently putting the finishing touches on them. When the two stars recorded these songs we don’t know, but we’ll get to hear them later this year.

The unstoppable Rihanna will continue to bring us more of her big tunes. Seeing her at the O2 before Christmas reinstated why she is so popular. She had the crowd up, dancing and singing for two hours.

Finally, Beyonce has had her baby. It is all the showbiz columns have been talking about. We all guessed that Beyonce and husband Jay-Z wouldn’t pick a 'normal’ name for their little girl, like Debbie (Ha! Can you imagine). But not many of us us would have expected them to name her Blue Ivy Carter. Don’t expect Beyonce to stay out of the spotlight for too long though as she has already said later this year she wants to perform some live shows.
