Two men drown in Longford Lake, Chipstead

Two men have died after drowning in a Kent lake.

Police were called to Longford Lake in Chipstead on Friday night, following reports that two men who had travelled down from London had drowned while swimming there.

Officers found the bodies of two men in their late 40s when they arrived at the popular lake shortly before 7pm.

The circumstances are not being treated as suspicious and the coroner has been notified.

The men's next of kin have been informed. They are believed to be from Lewisham and Lee in London.
