Welling have signed strikers Andy Pugh and Luis Cumbers from Gillingham.

The duo will join the Wings at the start of August when their contracts at Priestfield expire.

Pugh, pictured, enjoyed a successful loan spell at Welling last season, scoring eight goals in 15 games to lead the Wings to the brink of the Blue Square South play-offs, while Cumbers has also enjoyed loan spells in the non-league game.

Delighted Welling boss Jamie Day said: "I've been chasing them for a while and I'm really pleased they have signed for Welling.

"They bring quality to our team. They both had bigger offers but they wanted to come to us which shows their commitment."

Day has made no secret of his desire to bring Pugh to the club permanently after his exploits last season while he also tried to bring Cumbers to Welling unsuccessfully in March.

Their signings will give Day plenty of attacking options with Tom Whitnell, who linked up with Pugh to good effect, and Lee Clarke already signed up for the new campaign.
