Chatham TV watchers have come out top in a licence evading blacklist.

Latest figures for TV dodgers show the Medway town is worst in Kent for failing to pay the licence fee.

In the first six months of this year, a total of 416 evaders were caught out there.

Those in Tunbridge Wells were best in the county for coughing up when it comes to the annual charge, with just 104 caught.

The biggest change came in Dartford, which rose from 22nd position in the county to 10.

A total of 55 licence fee evaders were caught in the borough last year, but already 198 have been found out in just the first six months of 2008.

In the county as a whole more than 3,600 homes were caught out peeking at the telly without a licence.
