A LORRY driver was seriously hurt when a wing mirror crashed through his windscreen and struck him.

The incident happened when his vehicle and another lorry were in collision at Maidstone Road, Paddock Wood.

The injured driver was taken to the Kent and Sussex Hospital at Tunbridge Wells with head wounds, including a broken jaw.

Police say his vehicle needed to be recovered from the road. Traffic was disrupted while the incident, which happened at around 7.35am on Wednesday, was dealt with by the emergency services.
