Woman found in street with head injuries

POLICE sealed off a road for several hours after a woman was found lying in the road with a head injury.

Officers are carrying out investigations to discover what happened to the woman after being called to Cray Road in Foots Cray at about 2.15pm yesterday.

Detectives say they are trying to trace two men seen running into grassland opposite the Coca Cola Enterprise Park in the road carrying a large white bag.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "We are still trying to establish exactly what happened to this woman. We would like these two men to come forward to help us find that out."

The woman was taken to hospital by ambulance. Her condition today was described as “serious but stable".

The two men police wish to speak to are described as aged between 18 and 19 with one wearing tracksuit and the other wearing a blue t-shirt.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Mick Morgan of Bexleyheath CID on 020 8284 9131.
